Biomedical Data Infrastructure (BDI) for health research: National Neurophysiologic Database (NND)

Poul Jørgen Jennum – Professor, Department of Clinical Neurophysiology, Rigshospitalet
Grant amount: DKK 14,774,787

While ensuring inter-regional data quality and accessibility, this project will build a national neurophysiological database with uniform open-source standards and associated metadata. More than 200,000 recordings (including electroencephalography and polysomnography) from The Danish regional departments of Clinical Neurophysiology will form the initial database. This data will be harmonised and made available for example for studies utilizing machine learning, AI, which could ultimately improve diagnostics and pave the road for an entirely new paradigm in the clinical handling of electrical signals be it from the brain or the cardio-respiratory system.
